Hallo Gary, thanks for the nice words. The Benz is still available I think, it's comfortable but it needs a little time to get used to (as with most things in life...).
I have always thought your system to be a beautiful one, both from a gear point of view and aesthetics (within the limits of my ability for this sort of thing). The Rolf Benz is particularly nice. We are remodelling (I am told) and will be looking for a new chair. I am not sure if that is still manufactured but if so I will give it some thought. Is it comfortable? Congratulations on the new turntable, I have heard them and they certainly are very nice.
No, I replaced it with SL RG3 preamp and RG4 mono poweramps a few years ago, as you can see on the picture. All SL gear sounds powerfull yet refined and detailed. Ofcourse this depends on the other equipment in your system. I can fully recommend the Kraftwerk II !
Hi Mattheus, did you still own the Symphonic line Kraftwerk MKII? I'm very interested to buy this integrated for my new Raidho C1.1 speakers, can you tell me something about the sound of this integrated? Best regard! Nicola (Italy)
The audiobug has left the building overhere, so no more obsessive visits to Gon. The VDH is 'vinyl in High Definition'; ZYX was very good but the Colibri takes it all to a higher level. You know the drill: more detail, more dynamics, better stageing...
Dear Mattheus, I use a HD800 and a Graham Slee Solo as well. Great stuff! I'm waiting for my Moon Audio Blue Dragon cable upgrade and yesterday found a review of the Endorphin on Positive Feedback so I'm really looking forward to reading your impression of the cable. This cable seems to be the best for the HD800, so maybe another upgrade path for me. Regards from Vienna, Joachim
I clicked on your virtual system because of the Stealth Dream speaker cables. You have put together a beautiful music system. Every piece is eye candy and I'm sure sounds just as good. The Dream SC'c are my next planned purchase.
The ZYX delivers a very balanced and detailed 3D sonical picture. But smooth and 'real'. I know these are the typical 'high end' terms, but can't describe it otherwise. Very special is the fact that the Atmos seems to suppress 'pops'. I had the Airy3 (and Fuji) before: the Atmos is way better, it's like the Airy on speed :-)
Very nice system, I too enjoy the Transrotor SME IV combo. I'm using the Shelter 5000 cartridge on my system, can you tell us a little about the sound of the ZYX in your system?
