Description

I have a small odd shaped room in the basement. Listening is near field. Transparency and mid range are most important to me. Missing the lowest octave is probably a good thing as it makes peace with all not envolved. Making the Loesh phono preamp was quite a challange but its working well know. I listen to classical, jazz and pop/rock n roll.

    • Michell Engineering Orbe
Ordered from England. It replaced an 80'S AR with arm.
    • Graham Engineering 1.5 basic
It was this or the SME V and I what easy. Graham replaced a Rega 250. Not that I change settings much.
    • Benz Micro IO .4
I like this cartridge but I like to hear different cartridges.
    • Shelter 501
Just to get a different taste. I like the Shelter.
    • Ortofon Jubilee
After some research I decided to try this. It will replace a Shelter 501.
    • DIY FET Loesch Passive line stage
I used the Welborne passive line stage with stepped attenuators to build a FET-Loesch phono pre with seperate power supply and battery to heat tubes. I am very happy with it. Lots of gain, quiet and transparent.
    • David Berning Co EA-230
A perfect match for my speakers at a reasonable price to boot! Its a steal. It replaced a DIY PP EL-84, VTL TT-25 and CJ MV-50.
    • Quad U S A ESL-57
    Heavenly
    • Meridian 506.20
upgraded from a CJ Sonographe 5 years ago. Not played much.
