Description

Hi everyone. I live in Ecuador where it is hard to come across equipment and prices are extremely elevated due to import taxes. As you can see, I m new to this page. So, this is a 110 inch custom made screen with a black velvet frame, with an Optoma HD20 1080/24p projector. With an Onkyo reciever powering KEF Q series speakers. Looks and sounds great for the price. Will definitely be getting the next Optoma projector that is Full HD with HDMI 1.4/120Hz compatibility as soon as it comes out, and I will possibly upgrade to a more powerful reciever soon with 1.4HDMI compatibilty, and I would love to eventually get the OPPO BDP-83SE. I´m open to suggestions or recommendations, so please leave your comments, tell me what you think!

Great to see that you´re really into all types of music, ,most audiophiles are very restricted on their likes when it comes to music. I too, listen to a wide variety of music.
Well, there will be some new upgrades coming soon, I bought a new projector, new reciever, a new subwoofer and a power console.... none of which I have yet, but everything has been ordered. As soon as I get everything I will get som new pics up! And don´t worry, the new reciever has a completely pass through system so the sound is direct (preparing for the oppo one day!)..... If you give me your email I could explain a little better about my selection process!

Thanks for your opinion!! Question on that, What if I came out through the analog outputs for stereo listening? I understand that it would be a big improvement. Obviously I would still use the HDMI for video.. And have some news on my upgrades, it seems that I will be getting a much better projector soon, as well as an upgraded reciever (a little more powerful)... Will let you know when that all happens.... and I do have to say that your system is truly amazing! Would love to hear it! Im curious to know, what type of music do you normally listen to?

Thanks for leaving a comment! I cam currently using simple 14 gauge oxygen free speaker wire, i will probably upgrade, at least the fronts, to something better. As for interconnects, I have an Insten HDMI 1.3b wire from the PS3 and an optical wire from the Sony DVD player. Right now I can´t really afford to spend anything on the system, just got the reciever in December and the five speakers and the sub last week. Need to pay eveything off before I do anything else. I was curious to know how much of a difference there would be in audio and video combining the oppo 83se with my simple components (the Onkyo tx-sr607 and the Optoma HD20). Some people say that the difference won´t be much because my components aren´t on the same level as the oppo. What do you think?
