Description

UPDATED DEC. 2005

Have added many new upgrades past 6-7 months. See equipment list for details. Original desc. below

Small HT that has entrance through home office. Was once an extension of family room. Really great gaming room, and set up mainly for audio listening. Covered 3 windows with MDF, and used acoustiblok to prevent sound leakage. Added Michael Green room treatments to tone down echoes, and improve acoustics. Has 3 Berkline recliners, and is a very confortable room. Will eventually knock wall down, and increase size for a second row of seating. Current dimensions are 11X14. Room was assembled by me, with 70% of electronics purchased through audiogon, or videogon. Using several SignalCable power cords, and various interconnects. Sounds very good, and room is totally dark for movie viewing. Please feel free to ask questions, and offer suggestions.

Components Toggle details

    • Denon 2910
Used as a combo-player for DVD, and multi-channel audio.
    • Anthem AVM-30
Replaced the AVM-20, and the extra component inputs, and output were needed. The display is much better.
    • Pass Labs X-5
This is the best sounding amp I've owned. It replaced an Anthem MCA-20, and MCA-30. Using the balanced inputs.
    • Dunlavy Audio Labs SC-S1
Was lucky enough to get one of the few made. Very musical.
    • Dunlavy Audio Labs SC2
Tall monitors, but they sound great. Requires a good subwoofer.
    • Dunlavy Audio Labs SC-1A/V
Center & Surround. These mate well with the SC2's used as the fronts. Great for multi-channel audio.
    • Richard Gray 400s
Using 2 of these, and they really do make a difference. Using Signal Cable Power cords for input AC.
    • Sony PS2
Using Logitech wireless controllers. Better than the arcade!
    • Microsoft X-Box 360
Lucky enough to get one the first day released. Gaming is nothing short of awesome. Also streams audio from office computer.
    • BenQ PE8700+
Great looking image. The DVI input from the Bravo D! looks better than the D-Theater D-VHS tapes I have.
    • Draper Gray
92" Screen. Grayhawk like material, but not as good as the Stewart brand
    • Rocket-Onix UFW-10
Have a pair of these in a stereo configuration. Mate well with the Dunlavy fronts.
    • NHT X-2
Started life as an X-1, and was sent back to NHT for X-2 upgrade. The X-1's are designed for use with NHT sub's, and I'm not using them. Nice add on for turning fron monitors into full-range set up
    • JVC - D-VHS HM-DH30000U
D-Theater player, and HD recorder. I have several D-Theater tapes, and they are stunning. The video, and audio is much better than DVD.
