A nice addition might be to upgrade your CD to a single well. Marantz SA14 would get you into SACD or if you want to go easier on the budget and get more "bang for buck" results. The DV8300 is a very good buy, I just bought one as a DVD player but am also using the SACD capability. It also plays DVD-Audio, MPEG, CD,and SACD multi channel.
A great buy for 1500.00. As far as classical start off with some Alan Hovhannas he is an overlooked genius and is a nice transistion from new age.
