Description

Next phase will be upgrading digital source. The GamuT CD-1 @ $2995.00 blows away much more expensive competition.I love the Classe 1.5, but as good as it sounds doesn't hold up to a/b listening with GamuT.The preamp has changed in this system so many times I've lost track. The very inexpensive Alternate Audio BCAP once run through balanced power sounds glorious. Weak power supply but great design.I have never heard better at this price point! If you havent heard the GamuT amps you are really missing out. Truely great sound in the sub $10,000.00 arena. System along with room sound really good. Any further changes are pure hobby.

Interesting system. I have the Gamut CD-1. I certainly don't detect any problems with bass roll-off, although my system isn't full-range. The player has a remarkably musical sound and isn't horribly analytical-sounding like many of the players out there these days. I think this is the main recommendation for it. Very high-resolution, but not at the expense of musicality.
In the other column, it has a shitty remote. I think it looks lovely (sort of techy-retro), although it's a bit off the beaten path aesthetically. It is also very sensitive to scratched discs. I am in the process of seeing what there is to be done about it, but I've had to burn copies of some of my older scratched and smudged discs for them to play without noise.
Highly recommended. Transformed my system entirely.
