Strikes an excellent balance between warmth & speed, detail & relaxing sound. Unlike many systems, it does not need to be "cranked" to sound its best. I would eventually like to add a second subwoofer (which can double as stands for the Orcas) and perhaps an active crossover with SET amp for the Orcas and solid state amp for the subwoofers.
Nice job putting together a clean and attractive system. I'm familiar with the Thorens TD-160, and from my experience it is rather susceptible to footsteps, vibration, and other acoustical feedback. Are finding that locating the Thorens on the table this way gives you those issues? I would think that the subwoofer firing towards the Thorens would also be a problem at higher volumes especially.
