Description

Strikes an excellent balance between warmth & speed, detail & relaxing sound. Unlike many systems, it does not need to be "cranked" to sound its best. I would eventually like to add a second subwoofer (which can double as stands for the Orcas) and perhaps an active crossover with SET amp for the Orcas and solid state amp for the subwoofers.

Thanks for the nice feedback.

I recently obtained a second sub and so the monitors are now off the cabinet and affixed to the subs for a semi-active full-range system. I've also replaced the Jolida with a 6 wpc SET Decware integrated amp. The whole thing sounds killer and I couldn't be happier. I'll update photos when time.

Nbh13 -- very cool system! I bet the Almarro/Klipsch pairing is great, and I know from experience that you're getting great sound from the Rega/Dynavector combo.

Goheelz - - yes, indeed, the thorens is very susceptible to footfalls. Since I have 2 boys under 4, however, the turntable is basically gathering dust because it's just too hard to stop the footfalls and to keep them away from it. I'll hopefully be able to start spinning in a couple of years, but the Lavry setup is treating me just fine.

Thanks for the kind works, Afranta. I just checked out your system; it looks terrific. Truly "simple, clean and kid-friendly." Like you, I also have 2 boys, so we obviously have similar system priorities/limitations! I used to own (and still love) Naim equipment, and understand that it has great synergy with Snell speakers. I bet you get great sound.

I'm really, really jazzed about the Blumenstein speakers. Incidentally, when I do critical listening, I move them up flush with the front of the cabinet to lessen first reflections.
