This is the first system of mine that I can be proud of. Bought the Paradigm Studio 60's new. The Simaudio i-1 and CD-1 are from Audiogon. Cables and interconnects are nothing fancy - all by Monster. For casual but versatile cd playback, I use (2) Sony CDP-CX400's. They are interconnected for alternating playback, playlists, etc. But my serious listening is done on the CD-1. Not counting the Sonys or my cables, my investment is about $4500. I'm always looking for suggestions on how to improve, but this is probably all I can spend for awhile. The wife may cancel Christmas if I spend any more bread.
As my 4 year old daughter is usually in bed by 8:30, my next purchase is a pair of Grado 325is headphones. I'm currently using Grado SR-60's which are 7 years old. They are great, but I'm ready to upgrade and make the SR-60's for portable use only.
Studio 60 v.5. If I had another $1200 I would have bought the Studio 100's for the extra bass. But these are very nice, and perfect for where I'm at in this process
