I guess back in 1984 I realized that I had a passion for sound. Music was an outlet for like most of us but along with it came this desire for perfect sound or at least the quest for it. After many mainstream system during the 80's and 90's spending most of my money on music and alike, my ears came across the Thiel .05 at a friends house. His brother had a pair and since that day in 1991 or 92 I had to get my hands on a pair. So in 2006 I fortunately had the means to purchase the 1.6's.
Its a great system for me and my music collection.
The award-winning CS1.6 incorporates several new innovative design techniques that greatly improve performance in a small, two-way, floor-standing loudspeaker. The 36-inch tall CS1.6 delivers a much purer and more open upper midrange response coupled with a sweeter and smoother high frequency performance than conventional two-way models. The CS1.6 also offers a very high 90 dB efficiency to work well with lower amounts of amplifier power.
I too like the Denon DL-110 - it makes all my vinyl sound so sweet. Mcintosh is sweet sounding too and with those revealing speakers I bet the whole setup sounds glorious.
Love the Mcintosh glow - I see you have all SS setup but have you consider to try Mcintosh tube preamps?
Ah TP indeed - one of my favorites! I highly recommend his Anthology (box set available also on vinyl) and Soundstage concert. The soundstage concert has a great cover of I'm Cryin' as well as several blues classics.
