Description

Happy with performance and versatility of this setup. Simple straight to the point. This is a welcome addition from having my home theater system tied together to my 2 channel set up. I just received my Sonos system which I will run through my Cambridge DAC. Still simple, but with more options. Someday I will add a turntable. The only problem, not one single record to my name. This sounds dangerous already.

Beerad,

You're welcome.

Great minds think alike - about 2/3 weeks ago I upgraded with Gold Lion reissues too and went with EH 12AU7 Golds and TungSol 12AX7 Golds. Having just rolled the driver tubes in my Almarro 318B with NOS Mullards, it was tempting to go with the same; however, I decided to try something with a different flavour. The combination of these tubes makes for a very clean, detailed presentation with much improved imaging. Bass is real tight too - more SS-like than expected. I can imagine that, with the Mullards, your system's midrange is wonderful with a nice smooth sound.

Good stuff re: the wife. Perhaps a few more instances like that and she'll see you/us as "normal" . . . nahhhh, scratch that . . . birds gotta fly, fish gotta swim, and wives must assume hi-fi husbands are a bit loony :)!

Enjoy your kit.

Cheers,
Garry

PS - Pics please - you've gotta show those lovely Viennas off a bit.

Beerad,

Is it the Baby Grand you've got or the Concert Grand? Either way, you've assembled yourself a very nice and straightforward simple system thus far. Quite familiar with all of your kit, each piece is beautifully made and beautiful sounding. Really can't think of anything you'd need to upgrade for the foreseeable future save, perhaps, a nice REL R-series sub (owned by the same company as VA).

Any chance of pictures soon?

Cheers,
Garry
