I finally got the sound I was looking for. I have only been in to audio for a year now. I started with a Harmon Kardon reciever and some lower model B&W Nautilus. Moved up to a Rotel seperates (1098 1095). Did not here much difference upgraded the fronts from 803-802. WOW that was the second best move yet. From there I replaced the Rotel gear with all Mcintosh and a Marantz DV9500. The step up from the Rotel to the MC amplifier was the best move so far. I do like the simplicity of the pre. The one thing I hated was playing with all the surround modes trying to get it right on the Rotel. The rear wall mount surrounds are sitting on 300lb solid granite pedistals they come in 5 pieces and they are epoxied together.
Looks like you have a nice sounding system. Don't know if your into movies, but consider adding a Mcintosh MX150 AV/Processor, a nice 60" plasma TV, blu-ray player, and maybe even a 12/13" subwoofer. You will love it! By the way, is that the "RCA Dog" in the foreground? Cool!
Hello.... great system, but can't help notice that it looks like you have no room or wall treatment whatsoever...?? The reflections must be terrible....No? Are you still in transition or is that it? Please spend a few $$ on some cheap sonex or something. Good Luck!
Yea I really am happy. I can tell because Im not on the A-GON as much. The only thing I could say Ill be doing soon is a projector and maybe more power. Say a 402 and a pair of 202s?
Very nice. I bet that Mcintosh set-up sounds very good. And the great thing about Mcintosh is that it will still have great resale 20 years from now. In high school, one of my friend's dads had all Mcintosh running through Bose 501s. I thought that was a shame even then before I knew much about it.
