Description

Started as a home theater fan, only recently delved in to serious music listening. This is my first 2-channel audio system, which is setup in a separate room from my home theater. The multipurpose room is fairly large and open, approx 24' x 15' x 13' and bisected by two-way fireplace. Floors are hardwood, room has usual drapery & furniture, no special acoustic treatments. Equipment is on a Bell'O audio comonent rack and the floor-standing speakers are slightly raised on 8" Sanus stands.

Have been pretty pleased thus far with this modest starting system. Put the whole system together with a combination of new & used gear, total outlay was about $2,500. Future enhancements may be an isolation transformer or other power conditioning and vibration isolation materials.

Hi-You have the makings of a good sounding system. I have been at this for going on 45 years, and have learned a few things along the way. One thing I learned only recently is that equipment upgrades should follow cleaning up your power, and that should begin at the very beginning--a dedicated power line, outlet and ground. I would have never belived it, but this investment is equal to any major component upgrade. I'm in California where trades folks are pirates, but I got the whole thing done for under $500. Get one of the Hubbell 8300 cryo'd outlets, and I can guarantee you'll hear the difference in your system. Then you can feel secure in future upgrades. I firmly believe that this is better than spending mega $ on power conditioners. Check it out. Enjoy the music!
