UPDATE:

Changed most components! Now sounding really really nice. Using the highly directionaly Eminent Tech's is the ticket to a problem with getting decent imaging with my setup. Unforunatley those things are power hogs, so I had to use my Meridian 551 to get decent sound out of them. I have a TAD-60 lying around that I tried with them. Sounds SWEEEET, but out of breath unfortunately. I'll put KT88's on them next time to see what happens.

To Be Continued ....

=================================

My work system. Pieced together from misc. stuff sitting in my garage.

Just enough to relax me without bothering my co-workers. On Fridays at 16:00, my boss has wine tasting in his office (close to mine). i put my chair across my system and unwind. Nice way to start weekend. :-))

Would probably change the speakers. Then, find an integrated with a phono preamp. Otherwise, good enuff!!

That Meridian disc spinner brings back memories. Very nice piece.

Doug,
Thanks a lot. It took awhile and lots of experimentation (several speakers) to get this setup almost right. Now the only thing I'm fighting is that it's quite dark sounding if you're off axis. On the sweet spot it opens up quite a lot.

I haven't tuned in the sub yet. These Eminent Tech's come with a woofer box (seen on top of the Hsu) and they go quite lower than my previous experiment speakers (Cambridge Audio S30's which sound wonderful BTW). More tuning ...

I wanna try the TAD-60 again to see what happens. Stay tuned ...

I'm sure the "Mini-ET's" are wonderful. Good job making a small system with some big potential to please! I have a set of Eminent Technologies LFT-VI in my office (On the other end of the size spectrum), with a pair of HSU subs. So, you and I are in the same zone when it comes to matching the speakers; and I think we did a pretty good job! The HSU STF-1's (I had to go with them due to form factor - needed skinny subs to fit) are surprisingly capable.

Systems like this will get more people interested in high end audio. They'll hear and be amazed. Kudos!

This is really a nice little work system. The hybrid amp surely will smooth out the digital nasties. You aught to give the little jolida all tube integrateds a try. They sound big and they will help out your B&W's.

I still love the Kimber TC4's.
