Description

A modest system, but picked with care, and enjoyed immensely on a daily basis.

I've purchased British components carrying good reviews. Minimalist and bang-for-the-buck all the way, I guess. Life is complicated enough as is.

I've not had a chance to listen to reference systems, but to my ears this little setup throws a detailed, spatial soundstage with beautiful air.

Love it when a well-produced mix projects and recedes, and you get all the small incidental sounds as well as a tangible feel of the instruments. I'm a sucker for detail and air.

I'd like to hear suggestions from you knowledgeable people - any obvious steps to improve the sound without breaking the bank?

    • Exposure 2010S CD player
Great little CD player - extremely good value at the price (£600). Sound improved by disabling the optical/coax output with a jumper.
    • Exposure 2010S Integrated Amp
Matching integrated amp. Like the CD player, a great value item (£500).
    • Epos M-5
I'm very pleased with these little monitors. They
    • Tekni-fi 100
    Local brand. £20/metre. Biwire.
    • Tekni-fi F200
    Lokal brand. £100/metre
    • Audio Tuning 60S
Simple, spiked stands. Easier on the eye, and supposedly slightly better-sounding than EPOS' own ST-12 stand. £100/pair

Hi. I'm a South African currently living in Oz but speant the last 2 years in Copenhagen. I must say, your public library system is the best in the world, with a bigger music selection than any record store I've ever been in. I ripped about 400 cd while I was there, bless them. Funilly enough I store them exactly as you do, in boxes on the floor with alphabetical cardboard dividers seperating the plastic sleeves. Easy to transport that way.

Dont know what I could advise, other than obviously treating first relection points on side walls, floor and ceiling. DIY bass traps are also hugely beneficial. Re rack, I think its better as is, or on a granite slate, rather that having them raised if they are to stay between the speakers. Will mess with imiging a bit otherwise. cheers
