SWEET!!!! ain't it fun. I know i'm always suggesting stuff, but i've read a bunch of good stuff about the "gram amp" its a 250 dollar phono stage that doesn't take up alot of space or cash, then you could find any amp that suits your taste and not worry about the quality, or existence of the internal stage. and also there's the antique sound lab mini phono, and it's tube! i like tubes.
