Description

Well...just about finished painting & flooring...enough to live in my living room again...switched from my Bryston B-60 + Sony DVPns755V to the Electro Philips Combo...everything else pretty much stayed the same with the exception of the feet under the speaker spikes to protect the bamboo floors. Still need to do the baseboards & ceiling mouldings, but I need a break...been without tunes for a couple months now so you can see that by the comfortor & pillow on the couch I have fallen asleep every night for the past 4 nights listening to music. Room treatments (i.e. area rugs, art on walls, etc. to come soon enough) I have thick cloth shades for the big windows behind the t.v. but I still have to clean them before I reinstall them. Already fiddled with speaker placement for hours and have it dialed in pretty well...my ears like it at least. Anyhow, this is how I have kept myself busy for the last little while.

ok...back to the tunes...even though its 3:00 am right now.

been hanging out at Rennlist forums lately. By keeping my audiophilia nervosa under better control than some others on this site I was able to scrape up enough change from under the cushions of my couch to check out another hobby. Still sign on to the Gon from time to time when there's a juicy thread for me to come in and goof off in. ;o)

thanks for the kind words Chad...I like the room and the view also...although it is currently for sale...lol. The sub blends fairly well with the B&W's...it took a ton of fiddling with placement, but I had a guy who works for Cary Audio at my house at one point and he got me dialed in about as good as it will get for my equipment/room. I'm actually gonna be redoing my whole system from scratch after I move as I have promised this one to a friend for some painting help around the house...i'll still go the same route...just better next time...I hope.

Jfrech...yes...I have to say I am really impressed with it more and more as the 963SA breaks in...I have been running it almost constantly for 6 days now. I think it is more the change from the bryston to the Electrocompaniet also...I love the sound...I guess those Norwegians have their act together...I already want to upgrade...lol...beautiful equipment too...pictures dont do it justice.

With regards to the power strip...I hear ya...I once (a long time ago) had everything plugged into it and it definitely robbed me of the high frquencies...now I just have the tv plugged into it as there is only one outlet behind the tv for the dvd player and amp. All the outlets are hospital grade (just not purchased from an audio related place at triple the price) I have borrowed a PS Audio 15A whatever that little thing is and I still preferred everything plugged directly into the wall. Sooner or later, as funds permit, I'll run dedicated circuits for everything or go for equally priced power conditioning that works for me (I'll save that for a thread at a later date), but that may come after the next upgrade...who knows.

Thanks for the comments!

Hey KK...i just threw the pillows there for the pic purpose...make it not so obvious that the remodel wasn't complete (i.e. baseboards)...but I was pretty happy just to have my living room back so I went ahead and posted the system and pics. I'm going to L.A. for the month of August so I won't finish until sept...guess I couldn't wait that long to post the system though...sooner or later I'll have "real" room treatments. I feel for you that your system is down...music is incredible stress relief for me...I have had to make up for lost time (1 1/2 months) and have logged 12 hrs a day for the last 5 days...not including sleeping on the couch while a disc is on repeat...LOL...hope you have yours up and running again soon.
