Description

Conservatively put together after reading reviews, forums and magazines from the U.S and U.K.

I am open to any kind of music but listen to mostly World, Vocal Jazz, Latin, Dylan and Waits.

Next on the purchase list is a pair of headphones as I am up late every night listening to music.

Thank you for any input and advice on how to improve or refine my first foray into nirvana.

A well thought out entry level system that you need make no apologies for. I've been involved with hi-fi since the late 50s, and what never ceases to amaze me is how brutally fast the "diminishing returns" principle comes in to play in the upgrading process. Regarding headphones--I have spent countless hours over the years blissfully immersed in sound that's totally unadulterated by room acoustical influences, at volumes sufficient to cause at least some hearing loss, especially high frequencies. Take care of those ears! I can't imagine living my last years without music. Check out the Sennheiser line. The Grados are quite good, but I personally find the Senns to be more comfortable for long periods. Enjoy the music.
