System edited: New house...new room...dual purpose now. Two separate systems. KEF E305 / NAD / 70" Sharp for home theater. PMC / PrimaLuna / Wyred4Sound for 2 channel music.
As you say, the distance is greatly distorted. I'm using an ultra wide angle (fisheye) lens to get the entire room in one pic. The wider angle a lens has the greater distances are exaggerated. My entire room is only 17.5' deep. My ears are only about 10' from the face of the speakers. : )
Well, I owned some PMC OB1i's in the past and I loved them and always regretted selling them. The dynaudio line of speakers are all superb but ultimately I enjoy my music a smidge more with the PMCs. Love these speakers so much I've considered chucking the shipping boxes. That's saying a lot for a habitual box swapper like me. Had these for about six months now and still thrilled.
Yes, in the first pic you can see a small black box on the bottom shelf. That's a computer running windows 8. It is fanless with a low heat motherboard. It has an internal solid state 500Gb hard drive. There are no moving parts in the box, completely silent. There is a xonar STX sound card installed which provides spdif coax output from the computer to my DAC.
