I have built this system over time, with the assistance of a more knowledgeable audiophile, topping it off with the beautifully built Thorens TD 125 & an SME tone arm, 12" to go with the oversized long base Thorens. The plinth is Peruvian walnut; most of the parts have been rebuilt or modified, including the heavy platter. The Thiels are incredibly mint, given their age and size. I had them shipped in special built crates on a 70 pound skid. I have a very patient spouse.
I have made some "upgrades" to my system since last posting; I put quotes as I wonder if anything could be an upgrade to a Threshold FET 10 e Preamp!
The Krells look and act almost new; they are excellent with the low impedance Thiel 6's, which I have found to be the ultimate ThieIs . I have replaced the Transcendent tube Preamp with the Schitt Freya for use with the Krell monos; I plan to add a BAT tube preamplifier but it will take a lot to beat this convenient and versatile Schitt preamp.
Haven't gone down the digital road yet. Maybe later.
I don't have any suggestions, but will comment, very nice system, and assembled without purchasing a lot of uber-expensive new gear. That's always something to be applauded.
