9 months ago I had a Carver CT7 pre amp, TFM 24 amp, Infinity ss2004 speakers and a Pioneer PDM 60 cdp. After I decided to upgrade, I found this site. No, it's not a $20k system, I have about $3500 in it, but it jams for me. I know the speakers a little too close to the wall, but that's where thery're going until the basement gets done. Dig the cool Chet Zar print and the Rocky Horror Picture Show soundtrack album cover on the wall!
System edited: I removed some of the unnecesary items in my "space". As you can see, it's tight quarters. My speakers are 6.5' apart, and 7' from me. I'm in a loft, so the wall behind me is 17' away. I was looking at upgrading my speakers. My speakers are only about 12-15 inches from the back wall, so I need something that will be okay there. I'm fortunate enough to be able to audition Paradigm, Klipsch, Totem, Thiel, B&W, Joseph Audio, Reference 3a, all located minutes from me. I was thinking Totem or moving up the Paradigm chain to the Sig series.
Thanks for the advice. I've pretty much came to same conclusion about the cords. As far as my VTI rack goes, it is "loose" feeling. I plan on filling the legs with lead shot and getting some isolation going. Thanks for the advice.
Thanks. I'm looking to set me up a small tube system in the bedroom next. Maybe sometime in the spring. I'm going to sell off my old Carver gear to help fund that system.
