Components Toggle details

    • Merlin VSM-MXe Speakers w/Super BAM EQ
Bought in 2007 and continuously upgraded until Merlin ceased production in 2015
    • Quicksilver 60 Watt KT88 mono amps c. 2021
After nearly 15 years I found the perfect match for my Merlin speakers (I own both the Merlin VSM and TSM models).  Mike Sanders at Quicksilver is very solid and knowledgeable - no reservations recommending QS (I have a PhD in EE).
    • Thor Audio TA-1000 mkII c. 1998 w/upgrades
Tube preamp that retailed for $7500 in 1998, with well over $1000 in upgrades including a Khozmo stepped attenuator volume control with premium input resistors and about a dozen Vcaps :o)  It's the best I've heard in my system.
    • PS Audio DirectStream DAC
Simply the best to my ear.  I have a DirectStream DAC Jr. in my bedroom and streaming to both is dirt simple with Roon.
    • JL Audio Fathom F110
Excellent 1000 Watt self-tuning sub comes with cal mike - highly recommended
    • Balanced Power Technologies BPT 3.5 Signature Plus - Balanced Power Conditioner
Ridiculous overkill but I found one used and never looked back
    • Grover Huffman Pharaoh RCA and Speaker Cables
Beat out Cardas Clear in my system
    • Grover Huffman Pharaoh Power Cords
Braided ribbon cable with nickel shielding and Furutech connectors. As with all of Grover's cables these are impressive.
    • Symposium Ultra Platform
Excellent vibration management system. Used with DAC, preamp and amps.
    • Symposium Rollerblocks II+
Ball bearing isolation system used with CD transport and preamp in combination with Svelte Shelves.

The Bel 1001 Mk V am sure are awesome.
Had a chance to listen to the MK II's years ago and was impressed.
