just noticed your conversation and thought i'd mention that my friend who has a pair of sophia2s finds that tubes really mate very well with those speakers.we both have the same amps manley retro 250 monoblocks and while i currently run older thiels (and am looking to upgrade them soon) he has been extremely happy with how well that amp compliments his system.i hope this information might be helpful in your search for musical nirvana.
