Since the heading is "opinions please", I'll venture two upgrades I'd entertain. Your mileage may vary; everyone's tastes are different, doubly so in the auditory arena.
1) Upgrade the preamp. Going from Pass X2 to the 0.2 in my system - it was not subtle. I haven't heard the 2.5, so whaddoIknow? ;)
2) One-box CD: dCS P8i can be had for a tasty markdown. Me, I'm committed to the "more than one box" approach, but I doubt it will be a huge improvement over the integrated solution, esp. when pondering the question "which interconnects?".
Which interconnects have you tried between player and pre, between pre and power amp? How did you arrive at the choice of vhH speaker cable? Thanks,
