Description

I guess it is harvest time at the farm!--Been working on Maggies Farm since 1979 with a pair of MG1's, then MMG's, then the 1.6's and now 3.6's.. I'm a big fan of my Cambridge Audio Azur 640H music server-I love this thing, too bad they are discontinuing! I can play my uncrompressed music catalog from the 750 gig Western Digital Hard drive in its USB port, on shuffle for quite a while without a replay! It does way more too, check out the details in the equipment list.

I also added A Cambridge Audio DVD99, not for DVD's, but for the SACD and DVD Audio capability, sounds so good I wonder why SACD didn't make it?

I now have the Rogue Monoblock M-150's, Tubes, that are set it to triode running the mids and ribbon tweeters in the 3.6's. A New D-Sonic Class D ICE powered 1000 watt per amp runs the bass panels in the 3.6's operating in an active BiAmp setup though a Beheringer DCX 2496 crossover. That will probabaly all change come Summer since the big girls are heading over to Peter Gunn for his upgrade /modifiaction.

Since his crossover mod won't allow for Bi-Amping, one of the amp(s) and the crossover (along with some very nice XLR cables) will be for sale here!

I also had this giant cherry shelving/stand custom made. It's keeping everythng much tidier and looks good too. One of my Timbernation isolation platforms is now holding up the Rotel 1080 tha is powering the Maggie 1.6 surrounds. Next quest is a CC3 center.

this is a wonderful system, it honestly looks like what i hope my system will evolve into. (i'll put a system up on Agon when i can) I'm in the early stages of things. My question is: I'm looking at getting a Cambridge audio 640H, but i see that you also use the PS3 as a music server. I'd be using the 640H as a CD player and music server with an external DAC, but i also have a PS3 which i only use for dvd and bluray right now. What worked, and more importantly, which of these two sounds better?
Thank you
