Description

This is my first attempt at creating a fun 2-channel system. I tried to mix in my computer science and physics knowledge to create a unique mixture of components. I have the ability to do digital room correction on the system which really knocks down the boom created from side-firing the woofers into a corner. I'm not sure where to go from here with my system. If anyone has and suggestions or has any questions please let me know!

Components Toggle details

    • Sony CDP-XA7es
    Older but still amazing
    • B&K Components Reference 2220
I will mod out this amp very soon with new Wima caps and Vishay resisters.
    • Custom 3-Way Beta Speaker
Full 3-way with powered woofers. The 12-inch JBL 122A's are powered by Paradigm Sub amps from Monitor 90Ps. The midrange is a Hi-Vi F5 crossover at 3000hz into the tweeter which is a Hi-Vi RT1C-A.
    • Audioquest G-Snake
    Ok cables
    • Custom Balanced
Custom balanced cables running from my M-Audio sound card to the B&K amp and from the Sony CD player to sound card.
    • M-Audio Omni I/O
M-Audio sound card with External Omni I/O all balanced input/outputs. A great DAC resides in this sound card.
    • Custom Computer Alpha
My big monster holds all my .wav files just in case I get too lazy to use the Sony CD player.
    • Nintendo Wii
    Amazing
    • Denon DV-4500
    Great little DVD player.
    • Sony STR-DA1ES
Will be used if I ever make this system into a home theater.
    • Grado SR325i
    Great for intense detailed listening.

Very nice rig - reminds me of my own situation a bit (well, at least we share tastes in bass traps). Believe I heard your hi-val tweeter in some decwares I had a while ago. Good to see another student around here.
