With a name like Linnie01, of course I'm a Linn lover. I drank the "Linn For Life" Cool-Aid many moons ago.
I've never heard the LK100 but owned the LK 280 and currently own an LK 140 and LK 85 in different systems. Both hit the spot just fine for me. I'm also not a big upgrade fan until something goes to high end heaven.
Upgrading your amp may or may not "do it for you" over time. Only you can answer that after the "honeymoon period" is over. Others feel compelled to justify the new purchase after spending thousands on the upgrade.
All I can say is read all the upgrade stories here on Audiogon. Some hit the jack pot and others do not after several upgrade and downgrade purchases. All I've learned is this---with the high level of variability in recordings (which most of us own), the holy grail of high end audio is mostly a figment of our imagination.
Nonetheless, that's just my two cents. Do whatever you think is necessary to enjoy your system, always remembering that the music is the most important component by a long shot.
