Finally received spousal authorization to move from the man-cave. I'm no longer the troll under the stairs. I find that I listen more often, and dare I say, my better half is kind of getting it too!
@zufan I did, pulled the trigger and put my deposit down on a pair of Volti Razz. Very excited, the anticipation is killing me. Greg R. was really great to deal with, answered all my questions, gave sound advice. I’m planning on taking the drive to pick them up myself in a month or two.
@flashcider The name on the lower right corner of one of the prints reads Alvin F. Staufer. I looked up his name. From what I gather he was an author of model railroad books and artist of various prints in the 1950's and 60's.. I was able to find some prints out there, on ebay and the like. Interesting stuff. Thanks for the interest, now I too am curious and may pick up a few more.
Thank you for interest. Actually there were four prints in my father's old office. Two went to me, two to my brother. We are all steam locomotive fans. I will dig a little and see if I can find markings of identification on them. My brother and I have no idea how our dad found them. Stay tuned.
@baylinor George is literally my shadow wherever I am, there he is. He's one cool dude. Somewhat respectful of the gear, only found him perched on one of the speakers a couple of times. We had a long talk about it he and I.
Thank you for the comments! My bud George is my ever present companion. He's even more attached since his best friend, (120# lab Piper crossed the rainbow bridge).
I'm always looking to evolve the set up. 2023 will hopefully bring in new loudspeakers. Trying to decide between Tannoy Cheviots, Klipsch Corwall and Volti Razz. (only pair I've actually heard are the Klipsch.
