The crossovers were rebuilt using the Tobin Mods, The Woofers were fine but my Bozaks were an early homemade build (not uncommon) and a I mainly bought them for the cabinets, I found the more desiable mids and tweets on audiokarma somewhat locally and picked those up. I stripped out all of the batting inside (which was fiberglass insulation, and redid it with cotton batting ( I created the curtain and did what is called the flower pot mod to the mid, very important ) finished them up with a lot of bracing, and paint and new speaker fabric). I couldnt be happier with them, the sound very high end.
They match up nicely with my hardware, and definately have that laid back sound I was looking for. I was a klipsch guy for years but grew to dislike them. I hope you do it, its worth while.
