Up for sale is a set of Mitutoyo Inch Rectangular 35 pcs Ceramic Gauge Block Set
(PN: 516-316-26) that was kept in pristine, near flawless condition with no signs of wear and tear. The gauge block set was purchased in 2019 and have only been used on a few occasions for setting up/aligning my Koetsu phono cartridges. You might ask why use precision gauge blocks? The answer is simple. Currently, even the most sophisticated protractors on the market would only get you in the ball park - the alignment is never really spot on since we still rely heavily on visuals from a greater distance. With a set of ultra precise gauge blocks like the Mitutoyo, it is much easier to get up close to the cartridge & much less time consuming to dial in the alignment ensuring consistency each time a cartridge is installed - you'd know precisely whether the cantilever side of the cartridge is parallel to the platter, and that the 4 sides are truly perpendicular to it - no more guesswork! These ceramic blocks are chemically stable, are not prone to corrosion and do not deform due to change in temperature & humidity over time - they also have a strong wringing force so that they could be stacked easily for desired heights. I used them to set tone arm height and for cartridge alignment - they are especially useful if you rotate your cartridges frequently. This is the BEST solution other than using an industrial laser alignment tool which few people have access to.

Mitutoyo gauge blocks are the industry standard tooling for industrial applications requiring the highest precision. These AS-2 grade ceramic gauge blocks are exclusively used for aligning semi-conductor manufacturing equipment by engineering firms in Silicone Valley and they certainly are the best of the best!

Accuracy - Mitutoyo has established a traceability system for measurement products, up to the Metrology Management Center of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), and have been certified by the Japanese government as an accredited laboratory.

• Corrosion-Resistant - Anti-corrosion treatment is not required when handled normally (i.e. with fingers), resulting in simple maintenance and storage
• No Burrs Caused by Dents - Since the CERA Block is very hard it will not scratch and is highly resistant to burrs. If a burr is formed, it can easily be removed with a ceramic deburring stone (Ceraston)
• Abrasion Resistant - CERA Blocks have 10 times the abrasion resistance of steel gage blocks
• Dimensional Stability - CERA Blocks are free from dimensional change over time
• Marking - Black characters, indicating the nominal length, inscribed by laser, clearly visible against the white surface of block
• High Wringing Force - An even, dense tissue can maintain a strong wringing force
• Closest Expansion Coefficient to Steel - The thermal expansion coefficient of a CERA Block is similar to that of a steel gage block
