Well, this is what I've put together so far. Basically I'm just getting my foot in the door in the area of high-end audio. Even though I always wonder what it would be like to have a dream system, I'm never un-satisfied with what I have. I love to sit back and listen to my system come to life. I'm a college student so putting together anything has been very difficult but I'm enjoying every step of the journey. Though I love improving my system day after day, I also love reading and learning about audio. Whether it be physics, reviews, different setups, etc. I love exploring the universe of knowledge out there and I know that my system will grow old with me. Let me know what you all think.
System edited: I'm in a different house for the summer and I have a much larger and much nicer listening room. Just thought I'd update everyone. The room has a pretty weird setup without much symmetry in it at all. Let me know what you think. Thanks! http://img148.echo.cx/img148/6316/p60600390et.jpg http://img229.echo.cx/img229/7660/p60600388gh.jpg
System edited: More changes. Finally got my Mc7100 and I'm one happy camper. I uploaded many new pictures, inluding my newest arrangement. Let me know what you think. (There are a few more additions coming very soon)
Power is a great thing. And an expensive thing as well. I'm upgrading to an MC7100 Mac amp for the time being. The Lynnfields definetily are power hungry but considering my room size is a mere 11x14, 100 watts a channel will due fine for now. (I guess it will have to cause I'm broke. .haha) I think that at moderate listening levels, the Mac will handle dynamics very well. Maybe a pair of MC1201s in the distant future? :) Thanks for the comments!
System edited: Is bigger better? It all depends, just like everything in hi-fi I suppose. I canned my woofer and went with full range speakers instead. Subs are a pain to integrate. I'm more than happy with my new 500s and am looking forward to trying to tame their powerful sound in my small room. Let me know what you think.
I have the Lynnfield's VR40 speakers with VR12 center and VR Pro rears for years in surround system. I added Tekna dampers to the VR40's. A great sound.
