About fifteen years in the making. Beginning with an iPod and headphones, with dozens of iterations to prove once again it is a system and every component counts.
By far the biggest changes were the Woo WA5 with Takasuki 300B tubes... the Aurender N100 Music server and the upgraded Ayre DAC.
I also still have some of the stuff I used to get here. Woo WA6SE, several other amps, DACs, LCD2 headphones, Beyerdynamic T2 headphones... etc.
When I upgraded to this system, I listened to my main system and was appalled at its sterile but detailed sound. So, I set out to fix it. $70K later my headphone system and main system have the same sonic character and are equally satisfying (well, my main system, while of the same sonic character, it is far more satisfying because doesn’t have the inherent limitations of a headphone system. But… then the ratio of investment is ten to one. Ten x for main. Good financial choice on your part.
I am using a WireWorld Silver 7 (?) power cord on my headphone amp.
That's a nice looking headphone system you have there. I enjoy headphones so much, that I sold my 2-channel set up many years ago. Which power cord do you use on your headphone amp?
Thank you. I have LCD2. Haven’t listened to them on this rig in a while... typically I use them as well as Beyerdynamic T1 in my office system. Woo WA6SE, Schiit Gundir DAC, streamed from my PC.
That is the most serious headphone system I've ever seen not to mention gorgeous! And that amp is so serious it looks like it could power speakers too. Really nice system ghdprentice.
