Description

I've attempted to add pieces to get the best out of two-channel audio and movies. For two-channel audio, my MartinLogan Spires are driven by my Mcintosh 1502 amplifier through my Mcintosh c2500. I also have a pair of Rel 212se's connected to each Spire and Mcintosh 1502 amplifier with the Rel Speakon connection.  The source is split between vinyl and Tidal streaming through Roon and Lumin T2. My turntable is a Clearaudio Concept Wood (a Virtuoso V2 cartridge). I love the sound out of both.

For home theater, my Spires are still driven by the Mcintosh 1502, but the other speakers are driven through my Yamaha Aventage 3060 receiver. Those speakers include the MartinLogan Stage X center speaker, four Definitive Technology Mythos Tens for surround and rear surround speakers. I also have four Definitive Technology in-ceiling speakers for Atmos. My Rel 212se's are connected by LFE to the Yamaha.

With this set up, I really enjoy both music and movies. Please let me know if you have any feedback or suggestions. More details:

Martin Logan Spire

Ever since I heard the MartinLogans in store, I always wanted them. The sound was so clear and rich. I've gone from an Onkyo all-in-one, to Peachtree, to Hegel, to Line Magnetic tubes, to Devialet and now to Mcintosh 1502.

Mcintosh MC1502

My stereo power amplifier. It really does add a rich and 3D sound.

Mcintosh C2500

Very nice pairing with the 1502 and MartinLogan Spires.

REL Acoustics 212se

I have a stereo set-up. You can see the second one in the corner on the left. Bass is pretty awesome for both music and movies. I highly enjoy them.

Lumin T2

Easy to use and sounds great.

Clearaudio Concept

Includes the Virtuoso V2 MM cartridge and custom-made cover.

Yamaha 3060

I works well and manages all my HT needs.

Martin Logan Stage X Center Speaker

Got it because it would have the same sound signature as my Spires when watching movies.

Definitive Technology Mythos Ten

Serve as surrounds and rear surrounds for movies.

Definitive Technology Di 8R

I got four of these Def Techs and installed them into the ceiling for Dolby Atmos. These are meant to match up with the Mythos Tens for Dolby Atmos.

I got it on sale at Best Buy. Not sure how this compares with other equipment, but it seems to do the job. It can get a little noisy at times.

How do you like to 1502.? I was thinking about getting it. Does a generate much heat within the room after being on for four or five hours?

Your room is about the same size as mine except you've got a luxurious 9 feet versus my 8 feet ceiling height
