Description

Visually innocuous, wife ignored, great sounding Roon/Qobuz system that consists of:

  • a Bonn-8 ethernet switch from Fios (optical) modem (both powered by an LPS) through 20 meters of Supra Cat 8 ethernet cables to
  • an Innuous Zenith Mk.3 core/server/ripper connected via a Veritas Mirus ethernet RJ-45 cable to
  • a Meitner MA3i DAC/Pre Amp which is connected via Veritas Audio Argentum XLR cables to
  • Merrill Audio Veritas mono-bloc amplifiers, which are then bi-wired via Vogue Audio Sliver Strand Ultra (LF) & Transparent Gen.5 Super speaker cables (HF) to
  • a pair of graphite Sonus faber Olympica III speakers;
  • two Rel T/9x subwoofers are fed from the monoblocs w/ Van Alstine neutrix connectors.

All components are powered by separate 20-amp lines that are run on separate circuits with separate breakers to Hubbell IG 5362 20-amp outlets behind the system.  The front-end digital components and peripherals are connected to a Furman elite 15 PFi power conditioner plugged into the first 20-amp circuit, and the Pre/DAC and monoblocs are connected to the Furman IT-Reference 15i (isolation transformer) plugged into the second 20-amp circuit. The DAC/Pre and Zenith are powered by Zafino Fina PC's, and the monoblocs and one power conditioner are powered by CPT Valiant Diamond PC's.

The Zenith, monoblocs and Pre/DAC are on Stillpoint ultra minis.  The Speakers are on IsoAcoustic Gaia II's. The subwoofers are on SVS isolation pucks.  The Audeze Carbon headphones, Stax 700T energizer and Stax 15' flat ribbon XLR extension cord are kept on hand for music that the family finds difficult to appreciate.

The Fios G1100 router and Bonn-8 ethernet switch are powered by a custom LPSU  to cut the noise associated with stock wall warts and are run through a 20m dedicated Supra Cat-8 to the Zenith and through a Veritas Mirux RJ-45 from the Zenith to the MA3i Pre/Dac.

Thanks! the room is relaxing and the music sounds great.  Too loud for my wife though.  I just leave the Bel Canto and Innuous on 24/7 so music can be selected easily through Roon on the Tablet and the volume controlled with the BC remote (the BC DAC/pre does not have a 12v trigger).  BC recommends that their components be left on; right now, I'm not sure about the Innuous, but since it's basically a computer, I don't think it will be damaged.  Everything is run through the power conditioner though.

I love small chassis electronics and simple systems that lets the room invite comfort, enjoyment and good tunes.  You nailed it!

I have always been intrigued by Bel Canto....enjoy!

Elegant innocuous and bet it sounds great, my wife would be jealous (assuming it's easy to turn on and make music).  I am too.

Way to fit the system in so unobtrusively and a nice relaxing looking space too.

Nice, enjoy the music.
