Wonderful system! I heard the Grand's when they were first introduced at CES years ago. Jason Bloom, as well as Dan D'agostino were members of my audio club for years. I, at one tim,e owned a pair of Full Range Apogee's.
I also currently own a later production Goldmund Reference Turntable that I have updated. Would like to trade info. on our turntables privately if interested.

GA: I had my Grands since about 16 years. I also have the original schematics of the electronics, as well as the software codes to run them. I also have the Goldmund Reference Turntable you mentioned, one of the last 25 made, also including original wooden crates, schematics etc.
FR: I have not heard anything like it yet, so it's hard to describe. It is the only system I ever heard which can sometimes make you believe that the real thing is in front of you. You are welcome to give them a listen if you like. Maybe the fact that I have invested north of the retail price of a Magnepan 30.7 just into keeping the big Apogees going, is an indication of how much I value them.
SH: Yes, it is a special acoustic ceiling and helps the system along by a long way. The room has a nice balance between damp and live sound.
I heard the big Apogees with the Krell amps almost 40 years ago and was wondering how long you've had yours and whether the Krell amps have ever been serviced ? Occurs to me that would be difficult . I bought the ML Statements with custom Xovers by Krell but it was close . Beautiful system and room . One other question , since you have so much Goldmund equipment. ( what is not to like about Goldmund equipment ? ) I was wondering if you ever had their turntable with its linear tracking arm ? That was a terrific turntable but required a considerable effort to maintain . Again , really nice system .
Very nice system. I’m the original owner of a pair of Duetta Signature Series IIs and plan to have them fully upgraded and painted by Bill Thalmann @ Music Technology later this year. I’ve never heard a better sound presentation than the Apogees. It’s a very addicting sound indeed.
Apogee Grands.... the Kings of High Resolution loudspeakers! I own the Apogee Studio Grands in a wonderful sounding system built over the years and definitely know the hair raising experience you have every time you sit down for a listening session. Awesome room as well... quite impressive to say the least! You are in RarifieD air my friend.
Hey florianweigand nice to have Switzerland in the house! And fantastic system and uber Swiss love all the Goldmund gear. And old school Apogee's to boot it must sound amazing and super cool space too love all the wood.
