I've been buiding or rebuilding this system for the last six months. First I added the Tyler's which are so good that everytime I did anything else, good or bad to the system I could hear it.
I struggled with interconnects and getting a decent sound from the system for months until finally I got some good advice from Robert of Ridge Street Audio, who suggested I get rid of the silver coated copper speaker cable I had and try the Alphacore speaker cable, even though he didn't sell it. Rick Cummins of Argent Audio concurred with Robert's suggestion.
I finally pulled my previous cable and put in the Alphacore and the
system sounds excellent. Now I'm eager to sort out my interconnect and power cable choices, now that I can hear them without the harshness the previous speaker wire layered onto the system. I'm testing Audience AU24s (nice but a little dark and missing at the ends of the spectrum, some Ridge Street Poiemas, Argent Audio Pursangs and TG Audio HSRs.
Currently I'm enjoying the combination of the Pursangs and the Empress interconnects.
Time to focus on listening and adding new music to the collection.
