    • Quad 44
This is a Mk 1 version with low serial number. I installed a Dada Electronics upgrade kit and have painted it in a UK flag motif as part of my "Austin Powers" system.
    • Quad 303
I installed a Dada Electronics upgrade kit and have painted it in a UK flag motif as part of my "Austin Powers" system.
    • Thorens TD-165

    • Nakamichi RX-505
Reurbished September 2019 with new belts and tire replacements. Cleaned of sticky grease by well known local tech Daniel Daigle
    • DCM Timewindow 1
Speakers - Replaced grille cloths with high quality superflex open cell material (similar to Spandex but much thicker). Looks excellent.
    • JVC SEA-80
Equalizer with pink noise generator and Spectrum analyzer with behringer ECM-8000 Calibrated mic and Mackie mini mixing board with ghost power and mic stand for placement. Used to calibrate room when required.
    • DBX 3bx mkII
Dynamic Range Expander - Used for analog sources mostly (also flat sounding digital)
    • DBX 200
Program Route Selector - used for multiple source inputs as well as making it easier to use multiple processors for varying needs.
    • Carver C-9
Sonic Hologram Generator - If you don't know what this is I suggest you look it up. Does not work on all program sources but the ones it does work with will simply impress the hell out of you. I re-capped, changed all tranny's and Opamps to make it better than new.
    • Sony CDP-C515
5 Disc Compact Disc Player - Simply because I still need to play the odd CD that friends bring over or every once in a while one of my 1000+ CD's
    • ASUS Computer International Republic of Gamers High End i7 based Laptop
With DAC Destroyer for digital needs
    • Denon MC6000 Mk2
DJ Controller used for HiRes DAC onboard to mate with my system.

Nice system. I still use a dbx 3bx and dbx 224 for my Teac X-10R R2R.  Back in the day, dbx made really nice gear.

With much trepidation, I recently gave my son my DCM TimeWindow 3 speakers, Pioneer SPEC-4 power amp, Soundcraftsman SP4001 EQ/Pre, Rodec Mixer, and Technics SL-1600 MK2 TT.  DCM made nice speakers.  I miss them already.

That’s a pretty wild finish on the Quad & Thorens gear!  I’ve always wanted to try a Quad amp, particularly the 303 or the 306.  I’ve had a couple FM4 tuners and have read good things about the Quad electronics.  Enjoy!
