Thanks for getting back to me. I've been thinking about the Sotm switch for a while. I did replace the Coltranes a while ago. I really need to update my system page. In between the Coltranes and the MM2's, I had a pair of Innersound Kaya electrostats. I loved them both for their different characteristics, but neither had the weight and fullness of the MM2's. I really think that can only be achieved with a large speaker, and MM2 really excels at it. Add in the level of detail and musicality, and you've got an exceptional speaker. Given that they are voiced with the Dartzeel, it's an ideal match.
Yes, the sotm switch was a large improvement over a regular switch in my system. Lower noise, more detail, etc.
I use a HDplex Power supply that has 4 dedicated outputs. This powers my Sonore Rendu, Sotm Switch, NUC and Hard Drive.
Saw your setup... looks very nice. Have you replaced your Coltranes with the MM2's? I have heard the Coltrane's at a friend's place and they sound great. Have always been curious as to how they compare with the MM2's?
Very nice setup! I also have a Dartzeel - MM2 system.
I was wondering about the Sotm network switch. Did you find that it made an audible difference as opposed to a standard switch? Also, are you using it with a linear power supply, or the supplied wall wart?
Thank you for your comments and sorry for the late reply - I checked this page after a while.
The room took a lot of planning and almost a year to complete. It was built above an existing structure.
@joel_hifi - I will post some more photos soon. Have used lots of equipment over the years. Prior to this was a setup in a smaller room with a Vitus Preamp, Cadence Canasya Tube Amps (monoblocks) and Siltech Pantheon Speakers.
Congratulations as well. Looks like a great spot to enjoy all of your favorite music and escape the realities of the day. Perfect decompression chamber. Enjoy!
I will be the first to congratulate you on a job well done! It's obvious that you have put a lot of thought and work into the room and system. I'm sure you relish the time spent listening! Kudos!
