Dedicated 2 channel system CD/SACD with a totally separate/isolated Video Surround System.
Years and dozens of components later, this is the best I've ever experienced. Granted the speakers are not of equal $$$with some of the other components, but they blow me away. The room is only 13x17 of pure audio orgasm!
The most difficult challenge was incorporating Audio and Video together. After many various failed attempts, the only solution was to isolate the two systems. Power, speakers and components are completely isolated from each other. The Video Systems evolution was originated by my AV Designer Anthony Benjamin([email protected]). He was instrumental in designing and separating the two entities.
The custom Leon video speaker proved to be the best solution. Cosmetically and functionally this little LCR/surround combination with the Martin Logan Descent proved incredible.
Difficult to install separate fuse box in a rental apt building, added two 20 amp dedicated fuses for audio and video separately. With individual runs of heavy gauge electric wire with hospital grade IEC receptacles.
And of course the EMM combo with the magic Dartzeel is second to none. Just experience this once and irrelevant of you may own, you will want to buy into this miracle.
Do you drive your Dartzeel directly with the DCC2 SE? I found that the sound in my system is much better, much more detailed, using the Levinson 380S to drive the power amp (krell fpb700cx), than using the DCC2 SE directly.
Love your system, and that you are keeping the music first. It is nice to combine the video into things, but the music is what gives a system wings to reach heaven. Happy listening. Glen
Olegism. Very nice system. Thanks for posting it. I am glad to see the VS speakers holding thier own with such nice gear. The more I do to my system since getting the VR4SR's, the better they sound. If eventually am planning to separate my video as well and been thinking of a sound bar for the Left,Center,Right channels
I went from 4 SRs to 5 SEs and while they truly sound like brothers the added refinement, focus, coherence and apparent speed of the 5 SEs bring music to life in an even more convincing way.
Our systems are rather similar in that I use an Emmlabs stack too but differ in amplification where I use amps from Lamm and not from Herve.
Thanks mdoukas. It is imortant to take time and not jump. I have learned that very expensive lesson. I am considering either updating the VR4 SR to the new MK2 or trading up to the VR 5SE. I am told that it is a relatively large improvement. look forward to hearing them soon. Good luck with your system.
