This is where I'm at after 40 years of hi-fi ownership. I'm right back to where I started which is Japanese electronics and British loudspeakers. I don't play music loud these days because quite honestly I have a dog that I love and he's always by my side. Yes, I made some sacrifices to make sure I don't damage my dogs hearing. This system I have is way more than I ever imagined owning and when I say that I'm referring to money. My house needs siding so what's the natural thing to do? Buy a really expensive cd player. Anyhow, this is where I am as of December 2018 and I don't plan on budging (nor does my wife). This system is by far the best I've ever owned although I did love my Rogue Cronus Magnum. Still, it wasn't nearly as amazing as this Accuphase stuff is or maybe it's just different.
Speakers in Tiger Ebony. I listen to a lot of female vocals and generally laid back music and to my ears these speakers hit the sweet spot for me as all-arounders.
REL B-3
Sub. It's integrated well into this system and quite often I have to get on my knees to make sure it's working.
Resonant Woods Linear II
Speaker stands. I've tried many stands for these speakers and these are by far the best I've tried. I'm always amazed that Alan Shaw tells his customers that stands are not important and that you can put them on piled up books. I've had stands that almost made me cry and had my wife asked me "what happened to the sound"? Seriously, huge difference.
