I am only about a year in as a true Audiophile hobbyist. I have always been big into music and sound systems but had never dabbled in the High End Hi-Fi world before. I built this system over the past year and almost everything is second hand through e-bay, craigslist, and amazon marketplace. I think I am done messing with the system for now and will be spending my team really enjoying this setup and running it through its paces.
Very nice system! What are the black coloums in the corners of the room (behind the speakers)?
Also, your room seems bright - lots of hard surfaces, including the front and the side walls. I would hang a small rug in the middle of the front wall, as well as larger rugs on the side walls. I would also put a floor rug.
To OBVIOUSLY enthused music lover - - -Please, PLEASE, PLEASE - - - - do something about the acoustic "signature" of your listening room - - (from yr pics it looks ... pace ...ghastly !!!). With VERY easy, inexpensive do-it-yourself treatments, you CAN do it. If you do not, you shall be doomed to ever-changing, and......VERY expensive changes in your set up. Believe you me -( I speak from years of experience), for after DOING JUST THAT (including using 12 x "Made in China" umbrellas filled with BAF wadding hanging from my ceiling, I have NO intention whatsoever of buying ............................anything else
Thanks Everyone. Mike, ive been looking for a Gallo Sub Amp. Im using a Crown amp to power the second voicecoils for now, definitely increases the bass extension.
Keep on the lookout for the Gallo sub amp for the 3.1s. I have this setup, and the bass is wonderful. You can then sell the REL to recoup some of the cost. You could also consider the Dayton Audio sub amp.
Very nice system, and presented in a nicely done room. Nice choice of equipment, and I like your basses displayed on the wall!! Happy listening, and remember, IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MUSIC!! ENJOY!!
