I've been addressing the system around the edges, so to speak. Major efforts on the power side. The TV is wall mounted and has opened up significant 'cubic' space. The Router/Satellite has contributed to moving the SQ / overall performance upwards. A new rack is inbound.

Hello David, my name is kevin and I wanted to ask you a question about your nenuphars, and could not think of any other way to ask this - I hope you don’t mind. From everything I’ve read, your nenuphar seems to be the next speaker I’m looking for - the thing is this: with all the speakers I’ve ever heard, I’ve realised the one kinds sounds most difficult to get right are also on opposite ends of the spectrum - the piano, and full orchestral music. It is difficult enough to find a speaker to do all the others right, but these two are difficult to get at unless huge dollars are paid for. I found these qualities in the tekton moab, the piano on which is actually almost better than speakers costing five times as much. But the problem with the moabs is that they don’t quite do intimate well - the human voice especially, feels weak in relation to the best Britain offers. My question is this - with your somewhat similar experience with the double impacts, do you find the nenuphars having that special weight to the timbre of the piano, the way the moabs have? And in relation to orchestral music - will the nenuphars have a scale approaching that of the DI’s? I don’t expect a smaller speaker to do orchestral with the same aplomb as the monster that the moabs are, but piano will be my dealbreaker : ) - I do not worry in the least regarding the human voice for the nenuphars, which I am sure are exemplary. Once again, please excuse me for this intrusion, and I look forward to your reply - you can email me at [email protected] - thanks so much - kevin
Hi Alan. Yes, an absolutely wonderful experience!!! You have a superb group of folks in the Audio Society. Thank you so much for reaching out and including me.
Thanks also for your kind comments about the console. It's from Standmount Designs.
I posted the second pic to help with a question regarding footers in the Tekton Double Impacts thread. The Tekton Design Double Impacts are to the left and the Special Edition is to the right. I need to post more photos and will in the near future.
Wonderful to get together last Sat. over at RG's. What a lesson in budget audio, eh.
Checking out your two pix I would first like to say what a beautiful console you have there for support of your electronics. Secondly, in the last image there appears to be another speaker to the left of the DI yet no second pair of speakers is in your equipment listing. What's the story there?
Room is currently untreated (waiting for the last stages of renovation to be completed). Room, as is, is naturally well balanced though it leans live. First treatments will focus on bass.
