I've been working up to my current system for about 8 years. I started with a Luxman turntable, NAD 2200 amps and a Phillips CD recorder along with my current speakers and preamp
Very nice bang for the buck MM phono stage. Huge improvement over my preamp's stage
Marantz TT-15s1
Non- audiophiles always comment on the appearance but she's not just a looker. I upgraded to the Ceramic Magnetic Bearing which seemed to improve the pacing and vibration isolation.
Audio Research SP-4
The infamous ARC solid state preamp. Recently had it recapped. Solid piece of equipment that I plan to pass on to my son if he takes an interest.
Clearaudio Maestro Ebony
The Virtuoso that came with my turntable was no slouch but this was an upgrade I don't regret. Beautifully detailed MC like sound.
Schiit Audio Bifrost Uber USB
All the good you have heard about this Schiit is true. For a budget price it has the looks, feel and heft of a truly high end product. Schiit's modular design allows you to upgrade to current spec which I really appreciate and will probably consider after I see how MQA develops.
