    • Oppo BDP-103D Stereo Preamp
I use the Blu Ray for my home theater and stereo pre-outs for my 2 channel setup.
    • Rogue Audio Medusa Hybrid Stereo Amp
    200W into 8 ohms...works well.
    • Tekton Design Pendragon
Great sound, good bass, poor quality. Tweeters keep burning up.

I was running way more power/current to my Pendragons and played them INCREDIBLY LOUD and never had any issues with the tweeters. When I had the Pendragons, I DROVE THE CRAP out of them with a 30-watt tube amp up to a 375-watt Hafler SS amp and never had any issues.  And I played them STUPID loud.  You maybe got a bad pair?  I have the Lore Impluse now in a smaller room - same drivers, just less of them and they are RIDICULOUS for the money... most "fun" speaker I have owned in 20+ years.

Also, your speakers are way too close together and too close to the wall.

The Tektons look cool and the bass is good but that's about it. my amp puts out 200W per channel which is what the Tektons are rated for yet I've burned up 4 tweeters and had to replace them myself from Madisound.

I emailed Tekton about the issue and although he was an asshole at first he ultimately mailed me a check for the cost of the speakers and told me to keep them.

I expect I've got a couple lousy crossovers or these things just can't handle real power.

If I had to do it over again I'd go with Salk or Thiel.

How do you like the Pendragon's?  What are the plusses and minuses?  I am thinking about flying to Utah to listen to them.

The tektons look so cool.  I was thinking about getting them a while ago.  I bet they sound great.  I have the 8802a and the 103d same equipment haha

I've got a Marantz AV7702 for my home theater Atmos setup but it did not do well as a 2 Channel pre-amp utilizing Zone 2. The Oppo makes a much better preamp.
