PC based music server running XP. Parallel components. Replaced with silent PSU. OS on one disc music on another. Loaded with CDs ripped in .wav Sound is good but not VRDS-NEO standard. Controlled with Duet remote and/or Iphone/Itouch
System edited: The APL Hi-Fi NWO-4.0-SE has arrived and replaced the 3.0-SE. Preliminary findings are bigger soundstage, better bass, more liquid midrange even more extended highs.
Gimme_a_clue you are correct in that the room has some hard surfaces, it has glass and the right and left wall are stone if thats what you refer to when you say tile? The back wall and floor are however wood so I dont feel that the hard surfaces dominate. Some people like a more treated room and I prefer a room with less treatment, it reminds me more of small clubs setups. I have heard some very good rooms at Svanå Level 3 but I prefer a little less dampened room. When you take aesthetics into account I dont like treatment. My room is not a dedicated listening room but a room for the whole family to enjoy so the aesthetics play a big roll. Im actually quite happy with the room, so the answer to your question would be that the room was not an issue with my old gear.
