I created a very musical system based around my beloved Martin Logan CLS 1a (purchased here on Audiogon several years ago). The match between the speakers and VAC amplifier is perfect.
I added 2 Martin Logan subwoofers connected to the amplifier - I do not run speakers through subwoofers' crossovers to keep the sound pureĀ. Separate subwoofers allow better sound control in my slightly asymmetrical setup.
Great sounding APL Denon 3910 is my CD-player. Maybe in the future if finances allow I will purchase a newer version from Alex Peychev.
I am very happy with my system and do not intend any drastic upgrades.
Alex Peychev modified Denon 3910. The player has built-in volume control allowing for direct connection to the amplifier.

In my opinion the best amp for Martin Logan CLS speakers

Yamamura Millenium 6000
Old RCA interconnects, match my equipment perfectly
Bee-you-tee-full! Love the modernist look-it's especially cool that you designed your own bases. I had the CLS-1 way back when and remember it fondly..continued good listening!
I believe the CLS-2Z is actually an easier load for the partnering amp then the 1A. Regarding output taps, my experience with the 2Z was that highest available output tap off all the different tube amps I tried with them sounded best to me. With the lowest available tap sounding the worst. Although this certainly qualifies as being a subjective matter.
I think it's a very inspired system! I'm wondering if that amp could be sufficient to drive the IIZ version too. Has it a speaker terminal for 2 ohms? Very nice match with the room aesthetic, compliments.
