Greetings fellow A'goners! I bought the Sim and Dali gear after hearing the combo at one of the Home Entertainment expos. I really enjoy the balance of warmth and resolution I get from the Dalis and I find the Sim gear clean without being too sterile. My next challenge is maximizing the system's performance in my room. I spent the last weekend with a Radio Shack SP meter and the Rives disk- clearly I've got some work to do. Comments and suggestions are welcomed...
Love the Dalis!! And yes you are right to tackle room acoustics. Getting room treatments will make a huge difference, at least it did for me. Based on my experience I would get bass traps first. Place them in corners and along the mid point of the walls. I would then deal with 1st reflection points. You will be amazed at the improvement.
