The "music room" now in its 3rd configuration, with a focus on the desktop and nearfield.
As you can see, it is easy enough to push back from the desk and bookcase to listen to the Tympanis.
But it is so much fun to use the nearfield system while working, researching, watching TV etc that it rarely seems to happen any more.
As the concept continues to evolve, I want to go increasingly "high end" on the amps and mini monitors, as discussed in my thread on magical midrange at low volumes.
Thanks for looking and hope this is fun and interesting for you.
This is a one rack unit, workhouse commercial amp which is surprisingly clean, unfailingly reliable and has tactile, old school knobs and LEDs to add to the fun.
Antelope Zodiac +
Better known in pro circles, this is a surprisingly smooth DAC with versatile switching capabilities and an excellent headphone amp.
Good looking system and room. I had a high end Modern/Scandinavian furniture store and sold many of the Tizio lamps....just super. Have a good New Year.
System edited: room reconfigured for greater focus on desktop listening and multimedia, while not significantly compromising performance or flexibility for bigger system and Magneplanar Tympanis. A third, separate system drives the bigger HDTV for cable, Blu Ray and a PS3.
