Best sound from Quatros I have heard is with Ayre amplication. Plan to make move you did at some point in future. Havana Black is really striking. Cheers!

Great system.  Can you post some more photos of the vandersteens close up as well as the overall setup?

Totally new system.  Too funny, but after a couple of years I finally have most of what I have wanted.  The only things left are a new server/NAS and upgrading to the Vandersteen Quatro's as soon as I sell my new Treo's, lol....I caught the Vandersteen bug. Those Quatro's are perfect for my set up as I love the idea of controllable bass.

Wisnon. I have thought about it, but I'd need to hear it all in my system. I have the Trios as I"ve stated and I love them. The Ayre is a wonderful integrated. I've never hear another SS amp that sounds as good. It's more detailed than most think, but it's never hard. Just musical. That last time I heard the Devailet, I didn't like the rest of the system, so I steered away (just being honest). I'd be interested, but it would have to best what my dream system that I"m putting together. I"m open minded though.

Cstooner, since you are concerned about box count in your system, you may want to consider Devialet. You can get their amps with the Air streamer app and use with a SAM approved speaker for great sound and extreme WAF. You could also think about the Phantom speaker later to spread the sound around the house without breaking the bank.

The only drawback is that you will be locked into the Devialet ecosystem, but that is not a tragedy by any stretch of the imagination.

Wow, it's all broken in now. I need work on my digital, but am waiting until things shake out a bit...maybe next year. The Basis is blowing me away. I can hardly listen to digital anymore. It's unreal. I'm about to make my own ultra sonic cleaner. I can get an 80z tank and will make my own motor assembly. I also found my Zerostat and Discwasher brush. I laughed as I wasn't looking for them as I thought they had been toss by my ex years ago. Now I am going to sell my Rotel TT with Van den Hull MM cart...

Update:
Vandersteen Treo in cherry
Ayre AX-7e intergrated
8' run of AQ Castle Rock speaker cables
Music Hall 25.3 DAC
1m Run of balanced AQ Niagara from DAC to integrated
Marantz BluRay as my transport (for now)
Basis 1400 Turntable with Basis 301 arm
Benz Glider cartridge
Heed Quasar phono amp
MIT shotgun from Heed to integrated (will eventually be AQ cables)
Old three bay metal rack from England
I made a 1.5" thick MDF top for the turntable
Special order Gingko Cloud 12 isolation platform for Basis (what a HUGE difference in a good way)

Dream changes....new digital all the way around
Vector 4 tonearm for the Basis
Ayre AX-5e or whatever new zero feedback integrated they have when I can afford it, if ever.

Probably get a spin clean record cleaner for now to save some bucks until I can make my own ultra sound cleaner.
AQ carbon fiber cleaner works fine for the moment as does some stylus cleaner

So glad I met John at Audio Connection in NJ. He knew how to put a system together and I love it!!! I'm even listening to my dad's old orchestral albums and they sound awesome.

Matt, thanks. I will be getting my Vandersteen Treo's delivered on Tuesday. I have the Audio Quest Castle Rock cables coming along with them as well as a Basis 1400 with Basis 300 arm and Micro Benz Glider and a Gingko Cloud 11 for it all to sit on. I'm now selling these Proacs along with matching teak Proac Studio 1's (if you know of anyone who wants Proacs and MIT, lol). for digital I'm now using Music Hall 25.3 driven by a CAL Delta with AQ Niagara XLR interconnect between MH and Ayre. It's starting to come together.

I really like your posts and your system, THE only thing I would suggest is to try some cables that don't have boxes on them. I used to use MIT's and it wasn't until I got away from them that my system really showed a lot more JUMP factor. Just a thought. I love the Proacs and the Ayre electronics, good job man.
