Thanks Harri. I do want more control on my 3.7, and it's surprising that the tube can better Pass XA. Can we get deeper bass on the M180 than Pass? Best Victor
I thought the magtech sounded fine but it seemed to be missing something, been too many years for me to remember what. Within the pass line their amps sound pretty different though. I have owned the X250, X350, and XA100.5's and you wouldn't mistake one of them for the other lol. I personally just switched from the Pass XA100.5's to the rogue M180's and have been very happy with the change. More control, more power, smoother. You wouldn't think a 6k pair of monoblocks would perform as good as an 18k set but it's a crazy world lol. Good luck on your hunt

Very nice system, congrats! If you don't mind me asking, the Grover Huffman cables were a big improvement over what? How do they sound sonically? How do they balance warmth and transparency? How do they balance dimensionality versus clarity?
Well there has been a lot of changes in the last 6 months or so. After swapping lots of gear and speakers in and out I am at a point. I will update the photos soon.
Do you guys think the MP upgrade is worth the $400 for the K5xe? At this point I think my room is my biggest problem. Unfortunately it not one that can be fixed until we buy a new home in 5-7 years. :(
Thanks Aaron, I am really enjoying the Pass. The Bat is a great amp, it does have a warm tone to it that I am sure many love. The Pass though has a smoothness and naturalness that is very nice.
System edited: Added pics of my new DIY rack. Its Maple blocks 26x20x3 total height 46", with rods 1.25"D, and weighing in with equipment a measly 550lb
I was using an emotiva USP-1 as a pre with built in phone before the ayre. When I purchased the K5xe I picked up a Musical Fidelity V-LPS phono pre due to not having enough funds to go much better at the time. The amps I am contemplating is Pass 250.5 or Ayre V5xe.
